About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for managing the relationship and business with designated retailers and distributors in the region
- Growing both sales volume and gross margin contribution of FGI brands
- Make targeted grower and dairy sales calls through and with channel partners
- Deliver industry best customer experience through well planned, meaningful face-to-face interaction with target accounts, growers, and dairies
- Market and position FGI’s product ladder to increase trait conversion and business share
- Train designated accounts to position and sell FGI branded alfalfa seed and traits
- Manage relationships with dealers & distributors to achieve company goal
- Manage customer orders, replants, stewardship/GPOS data, program reconciliation
- Resolve conflicts between dealers promptly and equitably
- Provide regional agronomic support
- Understand and communicate FGI value proposition, pricing, and programs to designated dealers
- Develop Territory Plans and Grower and Dairy Targets (on-farm calls)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree; preferably Crop Science or related
- 5+ years successful sales experience in seed or crop inputs or marketing with customer contact; or equivalent work experience (10+ years)
- Proven ability to interact well with customers, suppliers, employees, and management of all levels
- Desire and know-how to make grower calls with customer sales staff and coach successfully to sell FGI products
- Ability to learn FGI alfalfa features and benefits, and use knowledge to provide sales/marketing support and training
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SalesForce.com
- Proven ability to solve and resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Ability to create and present interesting, informative, and educational product presentations
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
