About the role

  • Help to build Lambda’s cloud networking infrastructure
  • Contribute to automation of network configuration
  • Be part of operations and on-call for networking
  • Work with internal and external customers to resolve network-related issues
  • Deploy and configure networking hardware, switches, and firewalls for new clusters
  • Deploy and maintain network monitoring and management tools

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years of experience in IT space, and 1+ in managing networks
  • Experience with virtualization technology, like ESXi, KVM, and VMs management
  • Experience with FW policies configurations
  • Experience with multi-data center networks and hybrid cloud networks
  • Understanding of BGP EVPN VXLAN networks, Spine and Leaf (Clos) network topology
  • Comfortable on the Linux command line, and understanding of the Linux networking stack and internals
  • Python and/or bash programming experience
  • Experience with git or similar source control systems
  • Experience with Monitoring/Observability tools like Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus (nice to have)
  • Experience building and maintaining Software Defined Networks (SDN) (nice to have)
  • Experience with HPC networking, such as Infiniband or RoCE (nice to have)
  • Experience automating network configuration within public clouds, with tools like Terraform/Ansible/Salt (nice to have)
  • Experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) (nice to have)
  • Can participate in a production networking on-call rotation (incl. after-hours windows)
  • Can work in data centers as needed (rack/stack/console/OOB) and follow ESD & safety procedures
  • Comfortable traveling occasionally to data centers/customer sites, when required
  • Are able to work legally in the United States
  • Willingness to be present in San Francisco/San Jose/Seattle office location 4 days per week (designated work from home day Tuesday)
