About the role
- Build and lead a global team of Solutions Engineers, hiring and developing top talent as Lakera scales across regions.
- Own the technical pre-sales strategy, ensuring high-quality discovery, solution design, demos, and POCs that align with customer infrastructure and accelerate revenue.
- Partner closely with Sales leadership to support strategic enterprise deals and drive pipeline growth.
- Establish performance standards, coaching frameworks, and scalable playbooks to build a world-class Solutions Engineering function.
- Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure seamless handoffs and long-term customer value realization.
- Work directly with Product and Engineering to translate field feedback into roadmap priorities and ensure the platform evolves with real-world enterprise needs.
- Track and improve key metrics such as win rates, sales cycle time, and technical resource utilization to continuously optimize team performance.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or similar technical customer-facing roles.
- 2+ years of experience managing or leading high-performing technical teams.
- Proven experience scaling a pre-sales or solutions function in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
- Strong enterprise experience working with security, AI, or infrastructure products.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Javascript ecosystems, with the ability to go deep technically when needed.
- Hands-on experience with at least one hyperscaler (AWS, GCP, Azure); familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and IT procurement processes.
- A track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
- Excellent executive communication skills and comfort presenting to C-level technical and business audiences.
- Experience working across global teams and distributed environments.
- A builder mindset with the ability to create structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Passion for responsible AI and ensuring its secure and ethical deployment.
