About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the quantity surveying discipline across multiple construction projects from inception through to completion
Manage project costs, budgets, procurement and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets
Provide professional quantity surveying advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
Oversee contract administration activities and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures
Support the procurement and delivery of projects through partnering frameworks and competitive tendering processes
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Architects, Engineers, Building Surveyors and Project Managers
Engage confidently with clients, contractors and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
Monitor project performance, identify risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures
Challenge existing practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the service
Deliver projects that provide social value and support Lancashire County Council's strategic objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Holds a recognised Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent professional experience
Has substantial experience delivering construction projects within a quantity surveying role
Demonstrates strong project leadership and organisational skills
Has experience managing project budgets, costs and procurement activities
Can provide clear and authoritative professional advice at all levels
Possesses excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Works effectively within multidisciplinary teams and collaborative environments
Can manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail
Understands contract administration and construction industry best practice
Is committed to delivering excellent outcomes for clients and communities
