About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the quantity surveying discipline across multiple construction projects from inception through to completion
- Manage project costs, budgets, procurement and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets
- Provide professional quantity surveying advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee contract administration activities and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures
- Support the procurement and delivery of projects through partnering frameworks and competitive tendering processes
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Architects, Engineers, Building Surveyors and Project Managers
- Engage confidently with clients, contractors and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
- Monitor project performance, identify risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures
- Challenge existing practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the service
- Deliver projects that provide social value and support Lancashire County Council's strategic objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Holds a recognised Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Has substantial experience delivering construction projects within a quantity surveying role
- Demonstrates strong project leadership and organisational skills
- Has experience managing project budgets, costs and procurement activities
- Can provide clear and authoritative professional advice at all levels
- Possesses excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Works effectively within multidisciplinary teams and collaborative environments
- Can manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Understands contract administration and construction industry best practice
- Is committed to delivering excellent outcomes for clients and communities
