About the role
- The Junior Project Manager (Jr. PM) is responsible for managing small to medium-sized projects and/or discrete workstreams within larger enterprise initiatives under the governance of the Project Management Office (PMO).
- The Jr. PM applies PMI-based project management best practices to plan, execute, monitor, and close projects while ensuring alignment with Lafayette Federal Credit Union's strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
- This role works closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and PMO leadership to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Plan, execute, and close assigned projects or project workstreams in accordance with PMO standards and PMI best practices, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and stakeholder management.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables using approved PMO tools and templates.
- Facilitate and lead project meetings, including kickoff meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder briefings; document decisions, risks, issues, and actions items.
- Track and report project performance, risks, dependencies, and issues; escalate concerns in a timely manner to the PVP of Project Management.
- Ensure compliance with PMO governance, documentation standards, and change control processes throughout the project life cycle.
- Coordinate cross functional resources and collaborate with Business Units, vendors, and third parties to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
- Support and development of business cases, project charters, and benefit realization metrics for assigned initiatives.
- Assist with portfolio-level reporting, including schedule health, resource utilization, and milestone tracking.
Requirements
- 2 – 4 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, project coordination, or business analysis within financial services, banking, credit union or similarly regulated environment preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, or related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Project Management Professional (PMP®), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®), or demonstrated progress toward PMI certification is preferred.
