About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supporting the administration and organisation of the College’s Sustained Contact Programme for Key Stage 4 students
  • Producing or formatting resources such as information packs, academic resources, timetables, programme advertisement using Canva
  • Supporting administration and logistics of on-site school visits, subject taster days, open days, and other events
  • Supporting the administration and organisation of outbound school visits
  • Providing administrative support for the recruitment and coordination of casual outreach staff
  • General management of the joint Outreach email inbox
  • Liaising with schools and event attendees
  • Maintaining a list of school contacts for advertising College outreach activities
  • Purchasing travel tickets and arranging reimbursement for programme participants
  • Providing administrative support to the College’s Access Working Group
  • Complying with child-protection, risk-assessment and other legal requirements in relation to all events, volunteers and participants

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A good standard of education, at least to A Level
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well and solve problems under-pressure
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of colleagues, students, and external organisations
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to know when to use initiative and when to seek advice
  • Excellent and up-to-date IT skills, with a good knowledge of MS Office, in particular Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • An awareness of issues of data privacy, security and legal requirements for data protection (e.g. GDPR and CMA guidelines) or the ability to learn
  • An awareness of child safeguarding policy and procedures or the ability to learn
  • An interest in higher education and an appreciation of the challenges of working in an academic environment
