We are currently hiring an Environmental Project Manager in our Environmental Division in Virginia.
The Environmental Division at LaBella provides a full range of environmental due diligence services from initial assessment to remediation. The Environmental Project Manager must have experience with wetland/stream delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat surveys, Section 404/401 Permitting, and stormwater compliance inspections.
This position requires both office and field work; the successful candidate should expect to be out in the field up to 25% of the time mentoring junior staff and involve report writing and client communication. The successful candidate will help with the management of a wide variety of projects ranging from private land development and public sector jobs, while communicating with the Client the results of field studies and next steps.
Duties
Work directly with Southeast Regional Environmental Manager with workload, capacity, and growing services.
Attend divisional project manager meetings and work closely within divisional leadership to brainstorm ideas.
Review technical reports, prepare proposals and lead proposal teams as necessary for projects related to wetland/stream delineations, Section 401/404 permits, threatened and endangered species habitat surveys, Section 404/401 Permitting, NEPA level studies and/or stormwater compliance inspections.
Conduct field studies (i.e. wetland delineation, habitat surveys, stormwater inspections, etc.) with junior staff and/or independently
Project management, including tracking project budgets, heavy client interaction, scheduling staff, reviewing deliverables, interacting with agency representatives, etc.
Maintain/nurture existing client relationships with the Southeast Regional Environmental Manager.
Continue building technical expertise and encourage staff to build technical expertise.
Requirements
B.S. degree in environmental science, biology, geology, or engineering.
7-10+ years of environmental consulting experience in wetland/stream delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat surveys, Section 404/401 Permitting, NEPA level studies and/or stormwater compliance inspections.
Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), Professional Wetland Delineator (PWD) and/or VDEQ Dual Inspector, a plus
Additional experience or general knowledge in additional environmental due diligence services, such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, and/or Brownfields Redevelopment is a plus, but not a requirement.
Experience leading and mentoring junior staff.
Strong communication skills (active listening, written and oral).
Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and attitude.
