About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform CPT coding duties, including reviewing, researching, and assigning CPT codes to Labcorp procedures
Serve as a point of contact for CPT coding-related questions
Facilitate stakeholder meetings and present information to drive meaningful discussion
Prepare stakeholder comments and present implementation solutions
Manage LOINC responsibilities
Handle Labcorp and ACLA workgroup Code Change Applications (CCA)
Serve as CCR, Labcorp, and ACLA subject matter expert for CLFS (CMS)
Assign CPT coding for pathology, laboratory, and other disciplines as primary and backup coder
Train for CPC certification if not currently certified
Travel to AMA, CMS, and other locations as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or high school diploma/GED with 11+ years of relevant experience
5 years of RCM experience
5 years of laboratory experience
CPC (AAPC) certification preferred
3 years of experience assigning CPT codes
2 years of experience with CPT coding, CMS, and AMA
1 year of MS Office skills
Strong communication skills
Skilled in problem solving and guiding solutions
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Effective collaboration across diverse teams and leadership levels
Ability to travel 20% and travel to AMA, CMS, and other locations as needed
