About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform CPT coding duties, including reviewing, researching, and assigning CPT codes to Labcorp procedures
- Serve as a point of contact for CPT coding-related questions
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and present information to drive meaningful discussion
- Prepare stakeholder comments and present implementation solutions
- Manage LOINC responsibilities
- Handle Labcorp and ACLA workgroup Code Change Applications (CCA)
- Serve as CCR, Labcorp, and ACLA subject matter expert for CLFS (CMS)
- Assign CPT coding for pathology, laboratory, and other disciplines as primary and backup coder
- Train for CPC certification if not currently certified
- Travel to AMA, CMS, and other locations as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or high school diploma/GED with 11+ years of relevant experience
- 5 years of RCM experience
- 5 years of laboratory experience
- CPC (AAPC) certification preferred
- 3 years of experience assigning CPT codes
- 2 years of experience with CPT coding, CMS, and AMA
- 1 year of MS Office skills
- Strong communication skills
- Skilled in problem solving and guiding solutions
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Effective collaboration across diverse teams and leadership levels
- Ability to travel 20% and travel to AMA, CMS, and other locations as needed
