About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other tests
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or 3 months or more of phlebotomy experience
- If substituting work experience, phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to additional sites when needed
- Preferred: 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience
