About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and negotiate complex commercial leases, including retail, medical, office, warehouse
- Advise on lease amendments, renewals, expansions, terminations, assignments, subleases, and handle landlord‑tenant disputes
- Lead legal support for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects
- Conduct and advise on due diligence matters
- Advise business leaders on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental health and workplace safety laws and regulations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business teams on real estate strategy, risk, and deal structuring
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- 5+ years of combined experience in commercial real estate and environmental health & safety (EHS) law, within healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries
- Active admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 3+ years of experience reviewing and negotiating commercial leases
- 3+ years of experience supporting real estate transactions and due diligence activities
- 2+ years of experience advising on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and workplace safety regulations
- 2+ years of experience counseling cross-functional stakeholders
