About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and create printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
Place and route components while meeting electrical and physical design specifications
Ensure manufacturing and assembly requirements are met
Develop and generate drawings and documentation for PCB fabrication and assembly
Hold milestone reviews with design engineers and manufacturing process engineers
Rework PCB designs when engineering changes occur
Assist the design team in resolving design issues
Update drawings and documentation based on engineering change requests
Create ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols
Release PCB and CCA drawings

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
Multiple years of experience in PCB design or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design
Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment
Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is desired
Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings is desired
Practical knowledge of IPC design standards, including design for manufacturability, and ASME/ANSI documentation standards is desired
Knowledge of IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610 is desired
IT experience with backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or IPC CID certification is desired
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is beneficial
