About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and create printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
- Place and route components while meeting electrical and physical design specifications
- Ensure manufacturing and assembly requirements are met
- Develop and generate drawings and documentation for PCB fabrication and assembly
- Hold milestone reviews with design engineers and manufacturing process engineers
- Rework PCB designs when engineering changes occur
- Assist the design team in resolving design issues
- Update drawings and documentation based on engineering change requests
- Create ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols
- Release PCB and CCA drawings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Multiple years of experience in PCB design or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design
- Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment
- Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is desired
- Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings is desired
- Practical knowledge of IPC design standards, including design for manufacturability, and ASME/ANSI documentation standards is desired
- Knowledge of IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610 is desired
- IT experience with backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or IPC CID certification is desired
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is beneficial
