About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines
Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances
Fabricates piece parts per work instructions, drawings and specifications through the use of required machine tools
Inspects piece parts per work instruction and drawing requirements
Operates machine tools
Will machine energetic materials remotely
Keeps records and reports of the use of equipment
May assist in making estimates of the time and materials required to complete an assignment.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills: Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology a plus
Manual/CNC experience is preferred
Familiarization of machine tools and equipment, machine shop procedures and practices, principals and properties desired
Knowledge of basic mathematic principles to solve problems is preferred
Ability to work in a team environment and relate to all levels of employees is desired
Have a valid driver's license preferred
Ability to read and understand blueprints is preferred
Ability to work flexible schedule is desired
