About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS and others) L3Harris supports for the FAA
- Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers’ remote locations
- Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area
- Occasionally travelling to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or requests
- Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders
- Possess good admin skills (taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location)
- Work directly with the NOCC, the SAC, and the Helpdesk over the phone on resolving issues in the field
- Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle
- Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching
- Able to work outside regularly scheduled hours (on-call) when/if needed to meet customer’s needs
- Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10ft
- Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3Harris policies/procedures and program specific policies/procedures are followed
- Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust Security Clearance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent
- Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
- Excellent working knowledge of fiber, working knowledge of Multiplexers, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
- Working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC
- Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC power supplies
- Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards
- Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets
- IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
- Experience installing equipment racks (wall mount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
