About the role
- Responsible for administration, maintenance, and management of computer capacity resources at the OS and infrastructure level
- Build, configure, troubleshoot and integrate new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades
- Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, and allocate mass storage space
- Recommend software and hardware enhancements, diagnose and correct issues, and define/implement new services to maximize server uptime and availability
- Monitor performance and system usage; perform daily review of audit, security, and application logs and generate reports
- Contribute to Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), backup systems, and disk configurations
- Perform performance analysis on Operating Systems and application/network protocols and tools (Windows Server, CNPS, SolarWinds, TCP/IP, FTP, SNMP)
- Provide administration support to site SIPR and NIPR network communication systems
- Maintain firewall rule sets and IDS, review audit logs and take corrective action on intrusions
- Conduct weekly cybersecurity system audits and establish cyber configurations based on DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices
- Support MILSATCOM-related tasks and analyze satellite/network link performance (DSCS, WGS) when required
- Support critical operations on-site (work is 100% on-site and cannot be accomplished remotely)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 6 years of recent specialized experience, or Graduate Degree plus 4 years, or minimum of 10 years prior related experience in lieu of degree or certification
- Top Secret / SCI security clearance required
- DOD 8570.01M IAT 3 certification
- Experience with Windows Server (Windows 2012/2016) and Windows 7/10
- Administration support experience for SIPR and NIPR networks
- Experience with Dell servers, RAID disk configurations, PCs, and CISCO networking hardware
- Account management, PKI certificate management, LDAP configuration/management
- Establishing and maintaining DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices cybersecurity configurations
- Experience with IT management and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, CNPS)
- Experience with firewall rule sets, Intrusion Detection Software (IDS), and audit log review
- Knowledge of network protocols TCP/IP, FTP, SNMP
- Virtualization tools and implementation experience
- Security administration experience in support of RMF requirements and working knowledge of RMF
- Experience supporting DoD/government customers
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python, Perl)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours
- Ability to travel up to 10%
