About the role

  • Provide optical engineering support on various aerospace programs
  • Work with imaging systems ranging from UV to LWIR regions of the EM spectrum
  • Perform optical design, analysis, modeling and programming
  • Align, test, and troubleshoot optical systems and components
  • Build and utilize optical test sets and work with cross-discipline teams
  • Conduct systems trade studies and requirements verification

Requirements

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Optics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
  • Experience in optical design/modeling, systems trade studies, and analysis of remote sensing infrared and visible space qualified systems and components (preferred)
  • Experience in optical engineering or aerospace industry (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Code V and/or Zemax software tools (preferred)
  • Knowledge of FRED, MATLAB, Python (preferred)
  • Exposure to Systems Engineering standards, processes and disciplines (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Performing troubleshooting and requirements verification
  • Testing of optical systems and components
  • Working with cross-discipline teams to build and utilize optical test sets
