About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support customer-funded programs and internal research efforts
  • Design high-precision and complex space opto-mechanical telescopes hardware
  • Create/modify CAD models using top-down modeling techniques using CREO
  • Interface with outside suppliers/customers and other engineering disciplines
  • Present design details at program reviews to customers
  • Develop and perform testing to show proof-of-concept

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • 4+ years in CAD modeling and design tools
  • Professional experience with opto-mechanical engineering
  • Professional experience designing systems for space environments
