About the role

  • Serve as Empowered Official (EO) for assigned divisions
  • Interpret and apply U.S. export/import regulations and advise business leaders
  • Obtain and manage DoS and DoC licenses, agreements, exemptions, and exceptions
  • Prepare and oversee export and import documentation
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government licensing authorities, freight forwarders, customs brokers
  • Provide compliance guidance for product development, business development, contracts, and program management activities
  • Oversee restricted party screening and resolve red flags associated with proposed transactions
  • Develop, implement, and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures
  • Conduct internal audits and support external and government audits
  • Deliver trade compliance training and assess training effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience in import/ export compliance related role
  • Extensive knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), US Customs regulations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and perform data analysis and reporting
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 20%
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
