About the role
- Participates in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations
- Engineer applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design
- Responsible for research, development of layouts, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost
- Work accomplished with senior-level design engineers
- Ability to walk to/from the flight line and board/exit aircraft as required
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering / Aeronautical Engineering / Civil Engineering or similar with 2 years related experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
- Minimum 2 years CAD skills (NX/Unigraphics preferred, ProE, Catia)
- Must be a US citizen
- Active DoD security clearance (preferred)
- Understanding of basic aircraft systems (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
