About the role
- Perform aerodynamics analysis and provide ground and flight test support for fixed wing and rotary aircraft
- Evaluate the effect of aircraft modifications on vehicle performance
- Compute the effect of modifications on aircraft aerodynamic loads
- Perform steady-state and time accurate CFD analyses
- Plan, support, and execute Wind Tunnel Tests
- Support aerodynamic design optimization studies
- Perform comparative analyses of predicted aerodynamics with experimental and/or flight test data
- Lead method and tool development and enhancement activities
- Manage large, complex project initiatives with minimal oversight
- Communicate to explain and influence changes in practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- 4 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree (MSME, MSAE) and 2 years of prior aircraft aerodynamics experience
- 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
- 6 months experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics analyses
- 6 months experience in wind tunnel testing
- 6 months experience with aircraft performance analysis
- Must be a US citizen
