About the role

  • Perform ultrasonic (UT) inspections on various materials and products
  • Set up and maintain equipment, ensuring proper calibration
  • Conduct inspections using both automated and manual ultrasonic methods
  • Interpret, evaluate, and report test results for specific products
  • Detect and identify defects affecting quality and safety, such as cracks, inclusions, segregations, cavities, undercuts, incomplete fusion, and porosity
  • Determine the acceptability of items with marginal defects and reject those that do not meet standards and specifications

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • Certification as a Level 2 Radiographic Inspector, ASNT/NAS410 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, and equipment
  • Familiarity with various non-destructive testing methods
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, blueprints, production plans, and work instructions
