About the role
- Perform ultrasonic (UT) inspections on various materials and products
- Set up and maintain equipment, ensuring proper calibration
- Conduct inspections using both automated and manual ultrasonic methods
- Interpret, evaluate, and report test results for specific products
- Detect and identify defects affecting quality and safety, such as cracks, inclusions, segregations, cavities, undercuts, incomplete fusion, and porosity
- Determine the acceptability of items with marginal defects and reject those that do not meet standards and specifications
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- Certification as a Level 2 Radiographic Inspector, ASNT/NAS410 or equivalent
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations
- Knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, and equipment
- Familiarity with various non-destructive testing methods
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, blueprints, production plans, and work instructions
