About the role
- Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Identifies and addresses changes within own job area.
- Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
- Work consists of making basic adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems.
- Identifies, defines, and addresses general problems that are typically within the immediate job area.
- This role involves sustainment engineering support for the Trident II (D5) Strategic Weapon System.
- Responsibilities include fleet installation support, reviewing and responding to failure reports, and providing engineering test support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Graduate Degree with minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
- 2+ years of direct Engineering experience
- Direct experience working with at least one of the following technologies: Underwater Acoustics, Telemetry, Communications, Data Recording systems, and/or Radar.
- Familiarity with DOORS requirements management software
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Prior Navy experience, particularly as a Missile Technician, Navigation Electronics Technician, or Submarine Officer
