About the role
- Responsible for electrical system and subsystem architecture, analysis, schematic development, system diagrams, and component selection for the electronics associated with laser transmitters and testing equipment.
- Supports the glass shop, melt equipment and other high-voltage electronics throughout the facility and perform technician duties on an as needed basis.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Product Development, Marketing, Sales) to align engineering efforts with business goals.
- Communicate engineering progress and challenges to senior management.
- Manage engineering budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, Electrical Engineering.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in one or more of the following: Programming in National Instruments Labview™
- Analog circuit design, laser circuitry and test/operation.
- Digital circuit design.
- Electro-optical integration activities.
- Power supply design and EMI prevention
- Troubleshooting electrical issues and resolve problems on a variety of high-voltage industrial equipment.
