About the role
- Support design, maintenance definition, purchasing equipment, and general support of the Redmond test facility.
- Design solutions to support vacuum systems used in the hot fire testing of rocket engines.
- Coordinate purchase of equipment, components, and materials for equipment in the test facility.
- Work with EHS to ensure appropriate use of safety protocols and environmental requirements are met for all facility activities.
- Coordinate activities with internal personnel as well as outside contractors to complete facility projects (replace equipment, implement improvements, troubleshoot issues, etc.).
- Use and operate various computer systems to procure facility equipment.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the working team and those contacted in the course of work.
- Effectively communicate to supervision/lead person, maintenance, engineering or other employees of the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience is preferred, but not required.
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience with boiler systems and cooling towers
- Experience sizing vacuum pumps for small to large scale applications
- Familiarity with sizing and specifying hydraulic equipment used for incompressible flow systems (i.e. pumps, valves, sensors, flowmeters, etc.).
- Knowledge of high pressure gas systems and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability and willingness to work other shifts and overtime as necessary.
