Read and interpret engineering drawings and requirements to translate to process planning that produces conforming hardware.
Take full ownership of assigned product manufacturing processes, serving as the primary technical authority from initial planning through production delivery.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of product design, functionality, and requirements to ensure manufacturing processes support product performance and quality objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to ensure successful program execution.
Develop clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly work instructions that technicians can easily follow.
Must understand the practical application of work instructions from both the writer's and user's perspective, ensuring documentation effectively bridges engineering intent with shop floor execution.
Assist, develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process instructions, manufacturing bills of materials and routings.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Provide Design for manufacturability and assembly feedback.
May design and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with manufacturing and assembly of space hardware.
Experience working within ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP.
Experience working within PLM software to manage parts, assemblies and documentation.
Proficiency in machining, GD&T and assembly processes.
Experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to manufacturing processes.
