About the role

  • Perform analysis of aircraft structure using classical and finite element analysis methods
  • Develop free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses
  • Write margins of safety for static strength
  • Lead a small team of other stress engineers
  • Mentor team members on technical problems and manage their budget and schedule performance
  • Support the development of engineering estimates for bids and provide input for a monthly labor forecast for your team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or graduate degree with 0 to 2 years of prior experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
  • Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyze the static strength of aircraft structure with classical and finite element methods
  • Able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments
  • Willingness to travel
  • Able to hold DoD clearance at the Secret level
