About the role
- Perform analysis of aircraft structure using classical and finite element analysis methods
- Develop free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses
- Write margins of safety for static strength
- Lead a small team of other stress engineers
- Mentor team members on technical problems and manage their budget and schedule performance
- Support the development of engineering estimates for bids and provide input for a monthly labor forecast for your team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or graduate degree with 0 to 2 years of prior experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
- Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to analyze the static strength of aircraft structure with classical and finite element methods
- Able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments
- Willingness to travel
- Able to hold DoD clearance at the Secret level
