About the role
- Systems Safety Engineers assure that systems provide acceptable levels of safety.
- Engineer will identify and manage risk in order to eliminate or reduce it to acceptable levels.
- Ability to establish and execute a MIL-STD-882 safety program that concludes with a comprehensive safety assessment.
- Ability to understand the concepts of preliminary and system hazard analysis, hazard logs, fault tree analyses, environmental assessment and management, risk assessments and mitigation and occupational health hazard assessments.
- Ability to translate system requirements into functional requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Able to work independently or in a team.
- Available for minimal travel when required.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical discipline with a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant experience.
- The equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience can be considered.
- Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
- Must be able to pass additional security background checks as required.
