About the role
- The Security Operations Associate, is responsible for helping with security related issues for the assigned program.
- The Security Operations Associate responsibilities include execution of security functions including SAPF operations, personnel security, program support, physical security, information security, document control, badging and access control.
- The Security Operations Associate implements all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), Special Access Program (SAP) directives and other governing directives, as applicable.
- Exhibits the dedication and expectation of excellence required of a security professional while working and making decisions appropriately under CSSO and ACSSO purview.
- The Security Operations Associate works as a team player, exhibits flexibility, follows the CSSO’s priorities, and manages customer expectations in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
- The Security Operations Associate interacts with internal and external customers as well as Government security officials in performance of security duties.
- The incumbent is responsible for supporting and enacting all L3Harris corporate policies including the protection of L3Harris’ intellectual property.
- Maintain security program policies to ensure ongoing compliance with 32 CFR, Part 117, IC, DoDM 5205.07, and other requirements of all classified programs under purview.
- Prepare Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlining customer guidelines and establishing procedures for the handling, storage, and transportation of assigned assets.
- Conduct security related employee briefings to include indoctrination, debriefing, courier, closed area, program access, OPSEC, Insider Threat, derivative classification, foreign travel, and routine annual security trainings.
- Prepare and maintain System Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs) in accordance with ICD 705.
- Implement DD-254 Security Guidance and ensure program compliance with contractual requirements.
- Analyze and investigate security incidents and violations; prepare internal and external customer reports.
- Conduct annual self-inspections.
- Physical security duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining and changing combinations, access control systems, alarm access, secure area modifications and buildouts.
- Maintain multiple PERSEC databases including JADE, DISS and SIMS.
- Process PARS in accordance with SAPNP guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Active TS/SCI is Required.
- Knowledge of Joint Access Database Environment (JADE).
- Knowledge of Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
- Knowledge and Implementation of the DoDM 5205.07.
- Knowledge and Implementation of the ICD 705.
- Knowledge of the EQUIP Process and Justification Requests.
- Knowledge of Security Information Management System (SIMS).
- Knowledge of C*Cure 800/9000 Access Control Software.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
- Must be able to interact with persons of varying importance, multi-cultural customers and personnel.
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
- Experience implementing SCIF or SAP security preferred.
