About the role
- Leads and directs team by providing direction on all facets of ME/e3.
- Responsibilities include work prioritization, team briefings, personnel development, performance evaluation, and succession planning.
- Partners with other organizations to create and execute improved manufacturing plans which drive measurable improvements.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement, “Right the First Time”, Safety First, audit ready, and Policy & Security compliance.
- Ability to delegate tasks, manage resources effectively, and drive team performance to achieve organizational objectives.
- Analyze, design, and improve aerospace manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure quality.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work procedures and improve workflow.
- Optimize the layout of facilities, workspaces, and equipment to create efficient production environments.
- Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to identify bottlenecks, waste, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, quality, and supply chain, to coordinate and implement engineering projects.
- Develop and maintain documentation for processes, standards, and procedures.
- Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing technologies, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff to ensure effective implementation of process improvements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to address production issues and improve product reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an industrial engineering role within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment used in aerospace production.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as CAD, CAM, and simulation software.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the aerospace industry (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
