About the role
- Perform mass properties analyses, weight control, and reporting for major aircraft modifications
- Support the development of engineering estimates for bids
- Provide input to a regular labor forecast for your team
- Calculate and estimate component weights, moment arms, and mass moment of inertia
- Calculate overall aircraft weight and balance as a result of modifications
- Develop aircraft mass distributions in support of loads development
- Manage weight control plans
- Prepare aircraft weight charts and support aircraft inventories for weighings
- Document weight analysis and actual aircraft weighings in engineering reports
- Lead and coordinate tasks for Mass Properties on several contracts
- Estimate the scope and labor hours for Mass Properties efforts on new pursuits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, or Physics
- Minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments
- Willingness to travel
- Eligible for DoD Secret Clearance
