About the role
- Support design effort by performing mechanical engineering analysis
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback
- Develop designs using 3D computer aided design tools
- Perform structural and analysis utilizing classical techniques and finite element analysis
- Conducts thermal analysis, flow analysis, and vibration analysis
- Work with other mechanical designers to optimize designs
- Prepare and present design reviews
- Critically examine a design to verify that design principles have been correctly applied
- Develop working designs and computer solid models using MCAD/MCAE tools
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Proficiency in SiemensNX and/or Creo
- Experience with analysis tools such as Ansys, MathCAD, and CFDesign
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience transitioning designs from prototype to production
- Ability to perform classical hand calculations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with AutoCAD, PADs, LabVIEW, and Xilinx
