About the role
- Support design, implementation, and optimization of communication network solutions.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, and work independently on special projects.
- Develop network designs based upon emerging customer requirements.
- Negotiate commercial vendor products and develop procedures for implementing new network designs.
- Manage small to large network projects.
- Assess telecommunications technologies and design solutions to ensure alignment with the FAA/FTI network’s critical infrastructure and service requirements.
- Architect and engineer next-generation telco services to replace legacy copper-based solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Must possess prior knowledge and experience with communications engineering designs, service solutions and implementation processes.
- MEF 2.0 certification and/or equivalent level experience.
- CCNA Certification or equivalent work experience.
- Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to design, implement and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures.
- Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes.
- Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv.
