About the role

  • Act as a primary Manufacturing Engineering contact person to a production cell team, focusing on quality and reliability within the cell.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electro-mechanical and electro optical manufacturing issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support manufacturing changes.
  • Participate in daily cell MRB meetings and support closure of NCRs.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and procedures for WESCAM products, including creation of PFMEA, SPC, and control plans.
  • Review change requests generated by engineering and production staff for process impact.
  • Present manufacturing engineering activities at cell sustaining update meetings.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing Engineering experience in a high tech assembly environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Systems, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical, Manufacturing and Process Engineering.
  • Technical communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Able to troubleshoot and “real-time" problem solve manufacturing issues.
  • Must be well organized, goal oriented and able to give attention to detail.
  • Able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.
  • Able to read and understand Mechanical drawings and Electrical schematics.
  • AS9100 knowledge and experience an asset, but not required.
  • Experience using SolidWorks, Composer and AutoCAD an asset, but not required.
  • Experience using Matlab, Zeemax, and Code 5 an asset, but not required.
