About the role
- Test, diagnose, repair, configure, and perform preventative maintenance on network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and/or computers
- Manage configuration, software, and licensing changes for Cisco, Juniper, and various other networking and telecommunications equipment
- Operate and test with various electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, RF generators, VIAVI 5800, and Tempo Datascout
- Terminate and build cable connectors (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25) and replacements as needed
- Maintain records of repairs, changes, and updates in homegrown database systems
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment using principles of 5S
- Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust Clearance
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds (22.67 kg)
- Familiarity with Cisco devices and command-line interfaces using terminal software
- Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow-through
- Team player who is proactive and customer-oriented
- High level of initiative and willingness to learn
- Military training or trade school program in electronics or IT systems
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
