About the role
- Oversee and manage the financial accounting activities within the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) segment
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Maintain compliance with accounting principles and regulations
- Manage a team of accounting professionals
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with external auditors
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Provide guidance in the areas of financial activity, analysis, and reporting
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Experience within the aerospace or defense industry
- Familiarity with government contract accounting and compliance
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft or similar ERP systems
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles
- Experience with financial statement preparation and external audits
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and develop a team effectively
