About the role
- Lead and develop a team of quality engineers in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality across the product lifecycle
- Ensure quality engineering principles are embedded into design and manufacturing processes
- Accountable for QE inputs into the design and development of new products and processes
- Utilize data-driven analysis for zero-defect initiatives and defect reduction
- Oversee systemic trend and escape 8D root cause and corrective action (RCCA)
- Support QE execution of Design for Quality (DfQ) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Drive improvement to quality systems through supporting the implementation of the L3Harris Operational Excellence framework
- Develop and maintain quality metric dashboards for accountability and continuous improvement
- Represent the Quality function in New Product Design reviews and risk assessments
- Champion a culture of prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement for quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related technical discipline
- 3-5 years of experience managing a team of quality engineers in an aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environment
- ASQ Certification (ex. CQE, CMQ/OE, or equivalent)
- Certification or demonstrated expertise in AS9100D Quality Management System standards
- Lean Six Sigma Certification considered an asset
- Project Management Certification considered an asset
- Proven record of implementing robust RCCA, FMEA, and advanced quality planning tools
- Demonstrated success in achieving measurable reductions in defects, escapes, and cost of poor quality
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and controlled goods program
