About the role
- Responsible for the leadership, direction, and performance of engineering activities within a team of manufacturing engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a proactive maintenance culture to improve productivity and minimize downtime
- Ensure Manufacturing Engineering Team is driving improvements in first pass yield, cycle time, efficiency, cost of poor quality
- Take a hands-on approach to coaching and mentoring the manufacturing engineering team
- Manage engineers and technicians driving projects for new product introduction and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with Operations in the execution of production commitments
- Use lean, process technology, and automation to improve manufacturing environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
- Experience leading technical teams in a high performing organization
- Manufacturing experience in the manufacture of complex electronics, optics and/or electro-mechanical assemblies
- Demonstrated track record working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change
- Demonstrated experience / certification in Lean principles; Six Sigma, mistake proofing, etc.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
