About the role
- Develop, write, and edit high-quality documentation for manufacturing processes, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical manuals.
- Design and apply HTML for online documentation layout and content management.
- Utilize graphic design skills to create visually appealing and informative illustrations, diagrams, and infographics.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand complex technical information and translate it into user-friendly documentation.
- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to gather detailed information and incorporate it into documentation.
- Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Use CAD software to create and modify technical drawings and schematics as needed.
- Review and revise documentation regularly to ensure it remains accurate and up to date with process changes.
- Provide support in the creation of training materials and guides for new manufacturing processes.
- Compile information for, assemble, submit, and monitor status of manufacturing change request packages.
- Champion the development of standardized manufacturing work instructions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Technical Writing experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Technical Writing experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Technical Writing experience.
- 2 years’ experience manufacturing processes technical writing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in technical writing with a focus on manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in HTML design and content management is strongly desired.
- Experience with HTML based Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is strongly desired.
- Strong graphic design skills with experience using software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and specialized illustration tools is strongly desired.
- Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, for creating and interpreting technical drawings.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and standards.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex technical information.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with regulatory documentation requirements for aerospace manufacturing.
- Certification in Technical Writing or a related field.
