About the role

  • The Specialist Systems Engineer supports clients in the management or direction of logistics support for one or more programs.
  • Provide direct support to the customer in the planning, coordinating and execution of numerous acquisition program logistics efforts.
  • Provide logistics, sustainment, and life cycle support; training; advice; and recommendations.
  • Function as both an ILS Manager and logistics engineer responsible for life cycle cost analysis, maintenance planning activities, repair management, and supply chain management.
  • Planning and coordination of all logistics elements to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements for the program are identified.
  • Develop and support the generation and review of logistics support documentation, including Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), and other logistics supportability analysis (LSA) documents.
  • Conduct logistics analyses and assessments such as supportability analysis, Level of Repair Analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Utilize ILS tools and software to track logistics data and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, design engineers, program managers, and customers to integrate logistics considerations into system design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant (Sustainment) experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior logistics systems engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Logistics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Product Support Analysis (PSA), LSA, GEIA-STD-0007 or its predecessor MIL-STD-1388-2B.
  • Proficiency using LSA software applications, models, and databases (e.g., Slicwave, EAGLE, Powerlog, Compass).
  • Minimum of 1 year or experience with cost account and project engineering management.
  • Current security clearance or ability to obtain one.
