About the role
- Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilize engineering principles from aerospace and mechanical engineering to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Conduct research and analysis to support the development of new manufacturing technologies and techniques.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues to ensure smooth production operations.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the implementation of safety and quality standards in the manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering (large equipment) experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering (large equipment) experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Extensive experience with PLC Controls, Autoclaves and Ovens is preferred.
- Experience with transition product lines in aerospace defense environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and generate innovative ideas.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Catia or NX) and other engineering tools is preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
- Lean Six Sigma Black.
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) is preferred.
- Experience standing up new factory and Product Lines is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of project management is a plus.
