About the role
- Oversee the development, testing, and integration of propulsion systems for high-profile national aerospace and defense missions
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure project stability throughout its lifecycle
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, customers, government agencies, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with mission objectives
- Provide guidance on propulsion system design, performance, and compliance with national and international standards
- Utilize EVM techniques to monitor project performance and ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and scope objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation to achieve mission success
- Periodic travel as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Background in propulsion systems and aerospace engineering
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management and risk assessment methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- PMP certification or Project Management certificate
- Experience with government or national aerospace programs is highly desirable
- Capability to obtain a security clearance
