About the role
- Oversee and manage a department that plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation
- Manage personnel and execution of tasks
- Manage setup of new programs and creation of Configuration Management plans and baselines
- Implement and maintain Engineering Change Request System
- Coordinate interaction between Engineering, Quality, Operations, Program Management, Contracts, and government customers
- Validate engineering drawings, specifications, and contract deliverables to ensure compliance with customer contract requirements
- Develop, maintain, and execute plans to ensure contractual requirements are met
- Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine change classification and effect on overall product and system baselines
- Manage functional, allocated, and product baselines through change management
- Select participants and participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings
- Compile audit information and conduct audits of systems to verify the baseline documentation is accurate and complete
- Obtain customer acceptance of baseline documentation through formal configuration verifications and audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Experience with Configuration and Change Management processes, techniques, tools, related assignments (System, Hardware, Software), and project related work
- Experience in a leadership role, communicating with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Familiarity with configuration management standards, including EIA-649C
- Ability to handle critique from internal and external audits and resolve audit findings, including CARs
- Good written and verbal communication skills to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams
- Quality minded, with focus on data quality, process, and version control
- Detail oriented and organized
- Critical thinking and analytical, with research skills
- Working knowledge of contract requirements identification, engineering design documentation, and build and test processes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of SAP and Teamcenter
- Configuration Management certifications
