About the role

  • Oversee and manage a department that plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation
  • Manage personnel and execution of tasks
  • Manage setup of new programs and creation of Configuration Management plans and baselines
  • Implement and maintain Engineering Change Request System
  • Coordinate interaction between Engineering, Quality, Operations, Program Management, Contracts, and government customers
  • Validate engineering drawings, specifications, and contract deliverables to ensure compliance with customer contract requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and execute plans to ensure contractual requirements are met
  • Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine change classification and effect on overall product and system baselines
  • Manage functional, allocated, and product baselines through change management
  • Select participants and participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings
  • Compile audit information and conduct audits of systems to verify the baseline documentation is accurate and complete
  • Obtain customer acceptance of baseline documentation through formal configuration verifications and audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Experience with Configuration and Change Management processes, techniques, tools, related assignments (System, Hardware, Software), and project related work
  • Experience in a leadership role, communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Familiarity with configuration management standards, including EIA-649C
  • Ability to handle critique from internal and external audits and resolve audit findings, including CARs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Quality minded, with focus on data quality, process, and version control
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Critical thinking and analytical, with research skills
  • Working knowledge of contract requirements identification, engineering design documentation, and build and test processes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of SAP and Teamcenter
  • Configuration Management certifications
