About the role
- The SQE will work closely with their assigned suppliers on activities such as Early Supplier Engagements, First Article Inspections, Root Cause / Corrective Action activities, and audits
- Serve as the Supplier Quality Engineering First Article Inspection (AS9102) subject matter expert
- Visit suppliers to review product & process issues
- Analyze supplier processes and planning to verify compliance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, processes, specifications, etc
- Perform investigation and root cause analysis to drive improvements into supplier processes
- Participate in managing the supplier ratings/scorecard system and support periodic cross-functional supplier performance review meetings
- Create reporting documents to status Supplier's Performance, Non-Conformance History, impact to the Company's CoPQ, and other metrics as assigned
- Perform periodic source inspections at assigned suppliers
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, quality or other appropriate discipline
- Five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain clearance if required
- Experience in manufacturing and/or inspections required
- Strong problem solving, RCCA and investigation experience required
- Certified Quality Engineer strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management System Standard and AS9102, First Article Inspection Standard
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a close-knit team environment
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
