About the role
- works under moderate supervision and independently on larger, moderately complex projects or assignments
- communicates with contacts within and outside of own team which may include customers or vendors
- makes basic adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems
- works to achieve operational targets that impact department results
- utilizes engineering background and expertise to communicate between team members and customer counterparts to provide assurance that the hardware is compliant to specifications
- handles and communicates deviations/ nonconformance at different levels within the organization
- applies modern quality principles, concepts, and methods to routine aerospace and manufacturing operation, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
- interprets engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer's expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related quality experience
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related quality experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related quality experience
- Understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 and related QMS standards.
- Experience using RCCA tools such as FMEA, Pareto, 5-Why, 8D, and Fishbone.
- Strong drive and sense of ownership.
- Exposure to product development in a multi-functional team environment is desired.
