About the role

  • Develop manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes
  • Design manufacturing tooling for the production of solid fuel rocket motors and warheads
  • Develop jigs, fixtures, lifting devices, and semi-automated equipment to cast and assemble the final product
  • Design major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
  • Utilize CAD equipment to develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals
  • Investigate and make decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior design engineering experience
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior design engineering experience experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior design engineering experience
  • 3 years of experience in the design of tooling to support manufacturing
  • 2 years of experience using a solid modeling program such as Unigraphics NX, Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD Inventor, Catia, CREO or Solid Works.
