About the role
- Develop manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes
- Design manufacturing tooling for the production of solid fuel rocket motors and warheads
- Develop jigs, fixtures, lifting devices, and semi-automated equipment to cast and assemble the final product
- Design major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
- Utilize CAD equipment to develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals
- Investigate and make decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior design engineering experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior design engineering experience experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior design engineering experience
- 3 years of experience in the design of tooling to support manufacturing
- 2 years of experience using a solid modeling program such as Unigraphics NX, Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD Inventor, Catia, CREO or Solid Works.
