About the role
- Work in the Mechanical Systems Engineering group for the military CF-18, CT-114 and CH148 Programs.
- Assist the technical lead in the assessment of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CF-18 maintenance program as part of the In-service Monitoring Program (ISMP).
- Participate in activities necessary to assure continuing airworthiness of CF-18, CT-114 and CH148 fleet mechanical systems.
- Address maintenance snags and analyze them in relation to established design data and in-service experience.
- Provide technical support and engineering disposition to restore structural integrity and system performance.
- Assist in developing mechanical system modifications, inspections, standard repairs, changes to the approved maintenance plan and installation work instructions.
- Identify discrepancies and/or problems with drawings before releasing to production.
- Support/participate in integration tests on the system; develop test scripts.
- Assess contributing factors of system safety and airworthiness degradations by supporting root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautics or equivalent
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Hydraulics, Fuel, Pneumatics)
- Ability to read drawings
- Strong technical writing skills including the ability to write reports in English
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
