About the role

  • Represent Production Operations as the primary responsible individual for achievement of cost and schedule commitments.
  • Be the primary interface from Operations to the Program Management Office (PMO) and other functions.
  • Coordinate the action plans and needs of the Production Operations in support of commitment.
  • Work with other OPM’s to resolve priority conflicts on the shop floor in support of all program objectives.
  • As an Earned Value Management Cost Accounting Manager (CAM), set up and track labor baselines, as well as evaluate Risks & Opportunities.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing program plans and schedules to ensure successful execution of production with correct staffing levels.
  • Lead the manufacturing support team through problem resolution efforts by understanding program goals, tradeoffs and schedules.
  • Coordinate make / buy policy implementation and determine the capital expenditure required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in leading a multi-functional, technically oriented, Integrated Product Team in an operations environment.
  • Significant working experience with execution of earned value management (EVM);
  • Experience in creating and managing budgets for both operational and capital expenses; proven experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
  • Experienced with all phases of manufacturing and program management (development, planning, conceptual design, requirements definition, preliminary design, prototyping, test and evaluation, integration, entry to production, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing; preferably experience in Shop Operations.
  • Operations Planning, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement also desirable.
  • Strong operations and engineering analytical and technical writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate, present data, and explain results to leadership, subordinates & peers.
  • Skilled in the deployment and use of Lean and 6 Sigma manufacturing tools/methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills for collaborating with all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of MS Office products, including Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance which requires US Citizenship.
