About the role
- Perform and/or coordinate propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management
- Implement design and analysis tasks and oversee special studies and experiments
- Coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses
- Perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting while supporting the program technical lead
- Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems
- Read, interpret, and write specifications and technical documents
- Prepare technical and design requirements in support of project goals
- Keep current in relevant technologies and methods in support of project assignments
- Provide direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas
- Understanding and/or leads Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process
- May be assigned Earned Value Management duties
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 9 years of prior project engineering experience
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of prior project engineering experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior project engineering experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline is preferred
- Four (4) or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects is highly desired
- CAM experience is desired
- CAD knowledge is desired
- Manufacturing experience is desired
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels
