About the role
- Perform TEMPEST Test, design and analysis of systems using HFSS and other software packages.
- Coordinate test and verify EMI / TEMPEST design requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of various L3 Harris systems.
- Develop control plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Perform design analysis and implementation mitigation mechanisms to ensure EMI/EMC and TEMPEST compliance.
- Evaluation of design drawings to verify and correct system design to MIL-STD-461 and NSTISSAM 1-92 standards.
- Review supplier and partner qualification data for electromagnetic compatibility.
- Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical electronic systems, mechanical systems interconnect and structures.
- Perform TEMPEST, EMI/EMC nuclear hardening, HIRF, Lightning, RF co-site and antenna coupling analysis and test.
- Apply EMI/TEMPEST engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems.
- Perform trade studies modeling simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component interconnects and system performance and to optimize design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Physics or Engineering Physics Technology and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum US DOD SECRET Clearance required.
- International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) EMI/EMC engineer certification preferred.
- Must be familiar with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding and filtering.
- Must have familiarization of RF and measurement instrumentation such as receivers, antennas, analyzers and amplifiers.
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- 1 or more years related EMI/TEMPEST work experience or an equivalent of combined education and experience.
- Proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management.
