About the role
- Provide leadership and management of propellant mixing and casting for the Orange, Virginia site
- Lead all site propellant mix and cast activities to ensure products are produced to schedule and budget
- Provide leadership to a diverse team and mentor the team in achieving operational excellence
- Develop operations leaders and operators by ensuring we have leaders and operators that are ready for the next level through deliberate training and succession planning
- Establish and/or improve propellant mix and cast processes across the site between production and development as well as cross-site collaboration
- Support site visit interactions with external customers and government officials
- Ensure compliance to both safety and QA regulatory offices
- Ensure that both commercial and government QA certifications are maintained through site compliance
- Interface with Program Managers to ensure alignment of resources and capabilities to meet business demands
- Lead site activities that ensure standard business practices are in place and practiced across all of Operations
- Work with Human Resources to improve employee experience within the Operations Division, resulting in attrition reduction and talent attraction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior manufacturing leadership experience
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior manufacturing leadership experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior manufacturing leadership experience
- 5+ years experience leading manufacturing / production operations within the aerospace and defense industry
- 3+ years experience working at an energetics aerospace and defense site
- Proficient Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Experience leading production operations in a DOD energetic facility
- Experience using LEAN principles leading production operations
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated use of ERP systems
