About the role
- Work in the Halifax Avionics Systems Engineering (AVSE) section for the military CP‑140 Aurora and other military platforms
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Analyze at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Perform engineering trade studies on existing and new product technologies
- Translate requests of the customer into system level requirements
- Write subsystem specifications to subcontractors based on system level requirements
- Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design
- Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements
- Integrate and test, avionics and military systems
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals
- Develop experience managing and implementing software and system test plans in a team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Avionics, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent)
- 0–2 years of prior related experience (entry-level)
- Familiarity with avionics systems and standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, DO-178, DO-254)
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office tools
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 15288:2008 is a major asset
- Knowledge of MBSE SysML is a major asset
